The great thing about running workshops is that I learn so much. The actors at our recent audition clinic brought new contemporary pieces that I hadn’t come across before, and fresh approaches to pieces I thought I knew. We had some wonderful feedback from the workshop and I’m excited to announce we have set a date for the next one. Actors are already contacting us about this, so a huge thank you to those of you spreading the Giants word!
Our next Audition workshop will take place on Saturday 3rd and Saturday 10th February 2018. There are 14 places available plus two extra ‘single session’ places on each day for anyone wanting to focus only on one (Shakespeare OR contemporary) monologue. For prices and full details, please visit our Acting Workshops page or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
I look forward to meeting many more talented actors in February!
“Working with Jennie is always positive, reassuring, insightful, encouraging and fun. The audition course offered an excellent opportunity to get two audition pieces sorted with the helpful and discerning ability Jennie has of knowing what works for you. The course offered a very informal and friendly environment within which to experiment and work things out, and I feel confident I could use the pieces I chose.” Sara Dee – Workshop participant October 2017
I loved every second of the Giants workshops! I love how collaborative the whole process is, and Jennie’s method of working really trains you to see your audience as being in the scene with you, on your side and wanting you to do well. This completely dispels the need for any unnecessary nerves of performing in front of an audience. I always feel so much more enlightened and inspired after Jennie’s workshops; her humour, honesty and wisdom make the best combination, which everybody adores. The workshops are an incredible environment in which to learn and grow as an actor. I’ll certainly be back again! Bex Jones – Workshop participant October 2017
“It was such an inspiring two days and has got me really excited for my upcoming auditions. It was so useful getting to grips with some Shakespeare text out of context. It has made me think about my monologue in a new and more realistic way. Likewise, with my contemporary monologue; I no longer see it as a singular mood and can now develop the journey within it. For me, my favourite part was watching Jennie work with everyone on their monologues individually. It was so interesting to see what pathways a speech can take and many notes were applicable to my own work.” Raphaella Philcox – Workshop participant October 2017
